2022 Feast of Tabernacles
Kuressaare
The Feast in Estonia was celebrated on the large Baltic island of Saaremaa, where bounteous dairy, beef, poultry, fish and bread products are produced for the nation. The weather was mild and pleasant, with little difference between day and night temperatures. From eight nations, 39 people attended harmoniously at this English-speaking site. Our group of 12 Eastern European/Scandinavian brethren from Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia, Norway and Finland were pleased to be joined by members from the Netherlands, Australia and the United States for the first time since 2019. Lively special music, both instrumental and vocal, supplemented the compelling messages every day. Both the spiritual food and the physical food were tasty and filling.
The all-inclusive spa resort provided outstanding buffet breakfasts and dinners. Many folks visited the nearby medieval castle and the quaint specialty shops in addition to a modern, indoor Estonian shopping mall. A bus tour offered the opportunity to see the Viking history of the island, as well as a visit to a local iconic, historic inn with an outdoor one-way-mirror guest room, a small gin brewery and samples at a local fruit jam producer. Quite captivating was a visit inside a massive, 13th century church building.
Everyone was able to join in celebrating the baptism of a gentleman from Estonia. Be sure to make plans for 2023 to support and encourage the scattered Eastern European/Scandinavian brethren at the Feast of Tabernacles.
