St. George, Utah, also known as the Greater Zion area, hosted the Feast of Tabernacles for the third consecutive year. Several national parks, state parks and hiking trails provided options for outdoor activities and scenic viewing and touring. This area is great for teen and young adult activities and for all ages who want to enjoy the desert beauty God provides. Most members stayed in condos rather than hotels due to their abundance.

Church services were on the campus of Utah Tech University in their 1,100-person auditorium. The highest attendance on the first Holy Day was 714. Since we were in a permanent seating auditorium, we offered advance seating reservations. Over 50 percent of attendees signed up for this program, developed and operated by Broen Dowd.

The messages offered a balanced display of inspiring topics directing us to God and the future Millennium. We had a special Bible study with Don Harms from the Loveland, Colorado, congregation. His presentation focused on demonstrating the location of ancient Sodom as Mr. Harms has twice excavated at the archaeological site in Jordan. After the Bible study questions were solicited from the audience and a dozen people stayed even longer to ask more questions.

The teens gathered at a park for pizza and games and the young adult activity of canyoneering (hiking and rappelling through scenic canyons) was opened up to all ages. A family dance and dinner buffet were offered one night. Hospitalities for the teens and young adults provided social interaction and two days of youth education afforded children the chance to meet others.

Coordinated by Randy Schmidt, special music was exceptional throughout the Feast. Talent abounded in St. George this year.
