2024 Camp Report
Mexico
We headed north out of Mexico City to hold the camp for both our youth and our children in Tepotzotlán, Mexico from July 28 to Aug. 4, 2024.
Located only 37 miles from the capital, this immense facility (100 acres) provided the 60 campers, parents and staff with teaching-filled activities, beginning with “The Zone,” a concept that was established for the first time at the camp, as well as the main theme “Stand Strong,” from which the daily Monday through Friday Bible classes were derived.
In addition, the campers had various activities, like dodgeball, soccer, softball, capture the flag, swimming, treasure hunt, game night, piñata and campfire. They also received a class on handicrafts, mechanics (tire changing) and cooking.
The highlight this year was the 40+ acre private forest with a lagoon, boats and an event house, all for our group! Here we had climbing, archery and zip lining.
During the week we practiced a choir song to present on Saturday, where we had the joy of a visit from the Seiglies and Kubiks, as well as several members who were able to share a family service in the forest with good spiritual food and a traditional Mexican meal called “barbacoa.”
There is no doubt that God has once again been good to us—both young people and staff who came from Mexico, Chile, France and the United States. Many thanks to the Church for supporting the next generation of servant leaders in Mexico.
