Compass Check
Summer 2024
Our world is ever changing. Some things change for the good, but unfortunately, a lot change for the bad. We can’t stop it from happening, so maybe the better question is: How do we deal with it?
The good news is, you aren’t the first generation this has happened to. Daniel lived in a culturally diverse world that often opposed God. How did he deal with it and manage to find grace in God’s eyes? In your world today, how do you deal with those who want to change their pronouns? Do we bash them? Do we go to the other extreme and accept something that contradicts the Bible? And what about those who choose to oppose God? Do they have a choice, or did God harden their hearts for them?
Of course, life isn’t only about dealing with problems or the people who challenge us. There are a lot of positive things to think about. For example, have you ever considered the calling that God is extending to you? What about the calling that was extended to the Gentiles as revealed in Peter’s vision we read about in Acts 10?
Returning in this issue of Compass Check is another installment of our “Notes on the Way” series. We chat with Stephanie Tomes, a recent college and ABC graduate who has transitioned into the field of Speech Pathology.
I’ve asked a lot of questions in the last few paragraphs, but I think you’ll enjoy finding the answers in this issue of Compass Check!—Dan Preston, Editor
