The Feast in Mexico will once again be held at the all-inclusive Hotel Friendly in Puerto Vallarta. The facilities include three pools, Jacuzzis, a beachfront with warm ocean water and numerous activities within the hotel, among many other things. If the room block is met, the hotel will be exclusive for our group, making it an ideal Feast for families with children and teens. Translation into English will be available during the Services. The hotel is only 10 minutes from the Puerto Vallarta Airport (the Airport Code is PVR). 

Puerto Vallarta is considered a safe zone in Mexico, with thousands of tourists from cruise ships visiting the city every week. The hotel is close to the picturesque downtown and boardwalk area with plenty of transportation available. There is a large supermarket in front of the hotel with a currency exchange office (to change dollars or other currencies into pesos). We have had the Feast in this location for 11 years and thankfully, haven’t had any security problems. Even though the hotel is on the Pacific shoreline, the weather has mostly a dry, semi-tropical climate with very few mosquitos. Temperatures can range from the 70s to the mid-90s, depending on the time of the year (this year, in mid-October, it is generally drier and cooler, with less humidity). All meeting rooms and hotel rooms have air-conditioning.

Dining: Chefs prepare excellent buffets from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. (with other food available round the clock, and no pork, shellfish or other unclean food will be served during our stay). There are also free drinks available, including wine, beer, tropical juices, cocktails and soft drinks. There are six restaurants within the premises, all free of charge for hotel guests, and a brick-oven pizza and grill station.  In the lobby, there is free coffee, tea, cookies and ice service. The hotel has a full-spa and gym, with one-hour Swedish massages at 30 percent discount for our group! There is also a free tennis court, a children’s play center and several Mexican shows that will be provided, including a children’s party.

Once accepted, a room(s) will be added to your account and you will be able to fill out Step 2 registration and pay a $400 deposit per room. Here is where you will select your room configuration, schedule Ground Transportation and rent a radio for translations. Then you can proceed to make the final payment, due Aug. 15. Due to our contractual obligations, we collect all the payments and then send a bulk payment to the hotel. Once you get to the hotel, no payment will be due. There will be a $40 administrative fee per account to offset administrative costs due when Step 1 is submitted. Note: This is a limited capacity site.

Registration

Step 1 - On Sunday, March 24th at 11am ET you can register at https://www.regpack.com/reg/vallarta2024 and create an account to fill out the Step 1 form and pay a $40 per account admin fee  (This fee is non-refundable unless you are not accepted).

Step 2 - Upon acceptance, you will receive a confirmation email with instruction to access Step 2 when accepted. Please log back into your Regpack account and make your housing selection. To confirm your spot, you will need to pay a  $400 deposit (plus the processing fee) per room. This deposit is fully refundable until July 15, 2024. You can register up to three rooms under the same registration form, but please only register your immediate household unless you have a roommate.  On August 15th, 2024 you will have to pay the final balance due*. This final payment is refundable until September 20th, 2024.

Step 3 - Sign up for volunteer opportunities and rent a radio for translations. 

Step 4 - Sign up for Ground Transportation from the airport to the hotel. )We have an agreement with a taxi service at PVR airport that will take you to Hotel Friendly at a discounted rates. Rates will be posted in the coming months).

Additional information

FOOD ALLERGIES: Friendly Vallarta is an all-inclusive resort so all meals are prepared in the different restaurants. No microwave, refrigerator* or stoves are available in the standard rooms. (A mini-fridge is available in the Superior rooms available at an extra cost of $30 per night). For this reason, if you have a food allergy or food sensitivities, we cannot make sure that the food will be prepared according to your needs. Please be advised that we will not be responsible to make special arrangements if you have food allergies. 

SENIORS TRAVELING ALONE: Healthcare can become very expensive in Mexico, only a few Emergency Rooms are available and they come with a $6,000 USD hold on your credit card. We highly recommend if you have health issues and still want to attend this site, buy Travelers insurance and bring a caretaker with you. 

This is a limited capacity site and preference will be given to UCG members. Due to meeting hall capacity, security and the agreement with the hotel, people staying outside the hotel will not be granted access to Friendly Vallarta during the Feast (including people only wanting to attend services).
