×Kawana Waters, situated on the Sunshine Coast of Australia, is a lush and tropical destination with housing options covering all price ranges. Most accommodations are located on or near spectacular white sand beaches, and whales can often be spotted offshore as they typically migrate through this area around Feast time. The hinterland offers rainforest walks with breathtaking views of the unusually shaped Glasshouse Mountains. This marks our 18th year at this popular site.
Our meetings take place at Venue 114, a modern air-conditioned venue located between the towns of Mooloolaba and Caloundra, just a short drive from the accommodations in these areas. The venue offers a separate family room with services streamed for families with young children.
The weather is expected to be warm and generally sunny, ideal for outdoor activities. Any occasional rain in this subtropical setting does not hinder our planned activities.
Dining: Restaurants and cafes are plentiful and offer a variety of cuisines. You can also easily prepare any or all of your meals in your own unit, as most are equipped with their own kitchenettes.
Activities: Recreational activities revolve around the beach, ocean and hinterland, including surfing, swimming, kayaking, and whale-watching boat trips. Steve Irwin’s Australian Zoo is a 30-minute drive away, where you can view Australian wildlife, feed kangaroos, cuddle koalas and watch crocodile feeding shows. Rainforest and hinterland sightseeing outings are also popular. The mountainside town of Montville is a popular day out with multiple souvenir shops and beautiful views of the coast. Some of our international visitors take the opportunity to visit the Great Barrier Reef while in Queensland on trips before or after the Feast.
There is a normal range of activities at this Feast site for all ages—family day, a young adults’ activity, a seniors’ lunch, a teen outing and an evening social/dance event for the whole family.
Travel: The Sunshine Coast is an easy 90-minute drive north of Brisbane International Airport. Car rentals are available at the airport, and having a car at this site is recommended. Visitors must remember that we drive on the left side of the road in Australia. ATMs are available in many locations for our international visitors to obtain Australian dollars. Most businesses and restaurants have EFT-POS machines for credit/debit card payments or tap payments with cards or phones.
