[Steve Myers] Did you know the Bible foretells not only what catastrophic events are going to come on the whole world, but also how each of us can spiritually prepare for them?
Wouldn't it be great if you could predict the future? I mean imagine if the world had known that the Coronavirus was coming. What would have been different? What if you had known COVID-19 was on the way? It brought plenty of sickness, isolation, pain. But if you knew, what would you have done differently? The virus certainly stripped us from our freedom, took so many jobs, our confidence, and the lives of so many. And then came the protests, the unrest over racism and injustice. Events escalate and we want answers. But does the government have the answers? After all what's coming?

What's on the horizon? Because we've been worried we've been scared and discouraged, demoralized.

But you know God doesn't want you to feel that way. He wants what's best for you. So what should you do? God says, "Look to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth. For I am God, and there is no other." That's Isaiah 45:22. You see we've got to line up our lives with God, choose His way, His standard. And when you turn to God, when you turn to His Holy Word the Bible you will find hope, because He says it's a promise. 1 Peter 5:7, reminds us. It says, "Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." That means our worries, our anxieties, our fears, we can put that before God because we know life is tenuous. We know that life can change so quickly.

Now not too long ago we had a tornado come near our home. We fared pretty well. But so many suffered days of power outages, damaged homes, downed trees, and yet the storm wasn't really a surprise. The National Weather Service warned us it was coming. And of course they provide weather forecasts but also they warn of that hazardous weather to come. And so our sirens blasted. They alerted us "danger's on the way take cover." And not only that our phones also went off by the Wireless Emergency Alert system, another warning network to make us aware.

So even our cell phones were crying out there's an emergency. Look out. Dangerous weather. And it was a stark reminder that life can be turned upside down in just a matter of moments. You know today, our life is full of other kinds of alarms too warning us, act on knowledge that's right here in front of us. You know that's what Jesus did. Jesus warned not of some physical storm but he warned about the coming, prophetic storm. In Luke 12:54, He made that very point. He said to the multitudes, "Whenever you see a cloud rising out of the West, immediately you say, a shower is coming. And so it is." Then He says, "Hypocrites, you can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it that you do not discern this time?"

Obviously Christ wasn't talking about the weather. He was warning about a perfect prophetic storm, a coming combination of events and conditions, circumstances that forecasted terrible times of trouble, terrible consequences. Christ was saying life can change so quickly. And we've learned that. We've seen it. We know it can and it does. The Coronavirus should have taught us that. The recent spark of racism that quickly exploded into a blaze got our attention. I mean how can the world continue to go on like this? And when we see these things we see the uncertainty. We want a solution. And you know God's got that solution.

The question is whether we will act on those warnings, whether we're ready for the change. When we're spiritually preparing for a time, are you ready? There's a time of prophesied turmoil that's on the way. And right now God seems to be giving the world a moment to wake up and repent and change. I mean will you change? Will you draw closer to God while He's able to be found? Amos 3:7 gives us some amazing information. In the NIV it says, "Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing His plan to His servants, the prophets."

Now let me tell you, we are those servants. Not that we're anything special, but God has revealed His plan, through His Word, through the power of His Holy Spirit, His plan becomes obvious. Now are you listening? You see when we draw close to God and we recognize His spiritual advisories, we can take heart. We can have courage because ultimately we were warned. Jesus warned. He said, "Be prepared for a time of danger and unrest." And so like a forecast, He said, "There's trouble coming, famine, tumults." That's rioting, lawlessness, pestilence. You see He said we better take precautions and listen to those warnings.

In fact Christ used another word to really bring it to our attention. Mark 13:33, notice the word that He used. He said, "Take heed. Watch pray for you do not know when the time is." In other words watching means be aware, be alert. Discern the conditions of the world around us. In other words we better understand where we are in the timing of God's prophetic plan for this world. That's a big part of it. But you know most importantly, we're also to be watching our own spiritual condition. I mean like it or not, there is a coming judgment on rebellious mankind. There is a prophetic storm that's just ahead. Now if you're a disciple of Christ you better understand the signs of the time and it better motivate us, it better move us to live a godly lifestyle. God's revealed His plan to His servants. He says it right there in the book of Amos. And so we all need to understand those warning signs that are all around us. I want you to understand those warning signs and what it means for your life.

And that time is going to come when two great events will converge, and it will overwhelm humanity. Jesus Christ prophesied that it would be a combination of forces that would lead to a terrible time of trouble. In fact Christ called it "great tribulation." Nothing like it ever in the past or nothing like it ever again.

In Thessalonians the Apostle Paul wrote about that same time. Notice what he said in 1 Thessalonians 5:2. He says, "For you yourselves know perfectly, that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say peace and safety, then sudden destruction comes upon them as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape." You see the storm is coming. Two incredible events, you might say two supercells, that will comprise this coming prophetic storm. But how are you going to avoid the brunt of the consequences that are on the way? In fact what are they? What's going to happen? Well remember, God has said He has revealed His plans to His servants and I want you to be ready. So be thankful that God's word not only describes what will happen, but it also shows how to spiritually prepare for this down pouring of lethal events.

In fact looking back at 1 Thessalonians there in 5:4 he says very plainly, "But you brethren, are not In darkness, so that this day should overtake you as a thief. You're all sons of light and sons of the day. We're not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore, let us not sleep as others do, but let us watch.” There's that word. Be ready. Watch. It says, "Be sober." God didn't appoint us to wrath but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. You see God has good in mind so we have to be spiritually ready.

So what are this supercell, these double supercells and prophetic storms that are going to be unleashed with these inescapable events? Well let's look at the first prophetic supercell. Bible prophecy tells us that misguided leadership, government in other words, has always been a problem always been an issue for mankind throughout time. And sure enough when we look at Revelation 13 it describes the first prophetic supercell as that very aspect as this chapter begins. Let's notice the connection. It starts describing an animal. In fact an unusual one, an unusual beast. It was a monster. And as the Apostle John writes, here's what he said. "I stood on the sand of the sea, and I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and 10 horns, and on his horns, 10 crowns, and on his heads, a blasphemous name."

Now in one verse there's a lot going on here. What does this beast symbolize? What does it represent? Well it represents a coming great dictator, an absolute authoritarian, a ruler. You can't help but wonder, "Well how could authoritative ruler have such powerful control?" Well verse two it says, "The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and his great authority." Now who's the dragon? Well Revelation identifies it as Satan, the devil. In fact when we recognize this very thing, that's the power behind this leader. In fact this beast is not only a dominating ruler but it also represents the great empire, this powerful kingdom that he rules over.

And so when we begin to put all of these things together we see something big is going to happen. Christ warned about it. He talked about war, He talked about famine, He talked about pestilence, and there's going to be some event that's going to be the trigger. It's going to be the springboard that it will bring about something that's going to threaten our entire world. In fact these 10 horns represent 10 kings, 10 lesser rulers. And in order to solve the crisis, what's coming, these kings give their power and authority to the beast. I mean after all Revelation says, "No one else will seem to have the answer." I mean can you imagine that scene? This one supreme ruler will become idolized. The people will think, "Well he must be the chosen one, the ultimate leader. He's the one who can bring us security. He's the one that can bring order. He'll be sure to help bring global prosperity."

In fact we read about that prophecy in chapter 13:7. It says, "Authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation." Verse eight says, "All who dwell on the earth will worship him, those whose names have not been written in the book of the life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." I mean you talk about magnetism, talk about charisma. I mean the people are actually worshipping him. So this first supercell prophetic storm is going to astound the world by its power. And of course remember it comes not so much from just human might or scheming or planning but it comes from the dragon, from Satan himself.

Now you might think, "Well, wait a second how could that happen today? A dictatorship? I mean not with democracy protecting the world." But you know, Scripture says so. If you think about it for a moment what might take place if your way of life were threatened with collapse? What about your job, your lifestyle, your safety? What if your family was threatened? Where would you put your hope and your confidence? I mean wouldn't you trust someone that seems to bring order, seems to bring prosperity and justice, peace, somebody that's going to save our lifestyle. You see it could and it will happen.

And don't forget this persuasive beast, this leader, this ruler, he has the rulers of the darkness of this age on his side. And so no wonder he's going to rise to like a godlike status. I mean we look around and you've seen those clouds mounting. We saw inklings during Corona. We've seen the unrest brought by racism. I mean just look at our history, look at mankind's history. It shows very clearly these dictator-like leaders throughout time. Attila the Hun, Genghis Khan, Lenin, Adolf Hitler, one after another after another where an individual acquires the power and the support has a solution for the age, the heart of his people but then become a despot taking control. And so our history is full of tyrants, vicious behavior. History records, sadism, injustice, death. It's happened before the Bible says it will happen again. History records it and the storm of Bible prophecy certainly predicts it.

God's going to allow a final rebellion to take place before ultimately He sends the solution. Jesus Christ is going to return to this earth and He will set up a godly government. In fact Revelation 17:17 says that very thing, that about that rebellion it says "God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose to be of one mind and give their kingdom to the beast until the words of God are fulfilled." So how will these future events affect you and your family? I mean can we really know what lies ahead? You can. Remember God reveals, and we'd like to help you to understand His revelation. Considering the pandemic, continuing to recognize this politically charged, racially motivated world that we live in. I mean it can leave us fearful. We can be anxious and worried. And you may have felt that way. What do we do next? Have you felt paralyzed? Maybe a little insecure? Not sure. Well what's next? So if you're fearful of the future, maybe feeling a little lost or, what direction should I go? Maybe a little bit of despair about where to turn. But there is good news. It doesn't have to be this way. You don't have to feel like that. Of course that means I've got to surrender my will to God. I have to turn any control I hope for over to God. He's the one that's in charge. You want answers, you want peace? Well you can have freedom by surrendering all to God.

Remember God is glorified in weakness. When I'm weak, God is strong. And so as much as we might dislike our lack of control and power in our life, certainly reminds us God's in control. God is sovereign. God is omnipotent. He's all-knowing, He's all-loving. God's in charge. In fact He tells you, you can know what lies ahead and you can trust Him. He's the one that holds the future in His hand.

Now that leads us to the second part of this prophetic supercell that's gathering. It's also described in the book of Revelation 13. Notice verse 11 it says, "Then I saw another beast coming out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. He causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. He performs great science so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs."

Well he seems mild and meek as a lamb. No problem, no threat. But just like that first dictator, emperor, that ruler, that first beast and his evil system, who's the power behind this second beast? Again, Satan the devil. And he carries all those characteristics of the devil, those traits of deception, evil miracles, wrong false worship. And boy does he have power to persuade people to support and obey and even worship that first beast. I mean it's no wonder that the second beast is also known as the false prophet. The false prophet, together, these two become allies at the end time. The first ruling, warring, government domination and the second manipulating, deceiving the people through religion. Through religion. Revelation 17 describes this false prophet as a woman sitting on a scarlet beast, no doubt representing a false religious system.

And the influence is absolutely overwhelming, overwhelming with its authority, its wealth, its power. And when these two leaders appear they're going to take the world back, they'll astonish the world. And it will truly be an international, political, religious, economic system with an alliance to control and rule the world. It's not just one nation. It's going to cover many nations, cultures, languages. The Bible says, "Look out." When that starts to happen time is short. And for us striving to follow God, well Christ knows it's going to be difficult to remain faithful during this coming storm. In fact so difficult it says "some will be lost."

2 Thessalonians 2:10 says, "Because they did not receive the love of the truth that they might be saved." We've got to ask ourselves, "Do I really know the truth? Do I live the truth? Do I understand the truth? Do I really hold fast to the teachings of the Bible?" Not just some religion but the truth of the Word of God as opposed to those false teachings that are already out there, and those ones that this coming religious system is going to promote. I mean do you really know the word of God? You see it's coming. And this prophetic storm is going to divide the world basically into two groups. Those who obey God and keep His commands and then those who choose to ignore God, who choose to be disobedient to their Creator. So you need to make the right choice.

"Let him who is righteous be right still. He who is holy be holy still. Behold I'm coming quickly."

You see Christ is saying, "Be ready now." Yes look at world events. There's a coming prophetic storm. Don't let it take you by surprise. In fact verse 14 there says, "Blessed are those who do His commandments." So choose to be a doer. They have the right to the tree of life. God's revealed what's to come. So listen, learn, and do. Listen to God's advice, take His warnings to heart and then put it into action. Live your life in alignment with the truth of God. Let His word be a sure guide for your life. So seek Him more closely than ever before and prepare now. Then you'll be sure that you can weather the coming prophetic storm.
